Merge Players & Locations
You may end up with duplicates: the same player recorded more than once (perhaps as a "dummy" player with no account) or the same location added by different people. Merging these items into one lets you consolidate plays, events and statistics and keep your data clean and consistent.
The process is very similar for players and locations.
The merge process
The basic procedure is common to players and locations:
- open the profile of the item you want to merge (a real user or a dummy player, or a location);
- tap the "link" button in the top bar (AppBar);
- choose one of your own dummy players/locations to merge it with.
If the operation involves a real user (or a location that isn't yours), a merge request is sent to the person involved, who has to accept it.
Note: plays (and events) are moved onto the item you keep, and the other one is deleted. This action cannot be undone.
Players
Besides the canonical process, players have an extra option.
If you don't know the player's username and therefore can't reach their profile, you can set โ inside your own dummy player (not linked to any account) โ the email of the real user.
That user will receive a merge request or, if they haven't signed up yet, an invitation email.
Important: if you set the email, the day that user signs up for the app an automatic merge will happen between your dummy player and their real account.
Locations
Locations follow the same process: from the location profile tap "link" and pick one of your locations to merge it with. If one of the locations wasn't created by you, a request is sent to its owner.
Note: you can't merge two public locations, since neither of them can be deleted.
